Woman dies following traffic collision

Sad news coming out of Kempston this evening. Bedfordshire Police have announced a pedestrian has died, following a collision with a vehicle in Kempston. A section of Bedford Road has been closed while Police investigate.

In what is thought to be a separate incident, officers also arrested a man, after reports of gunshots being fired from a car in the Harter Road area shortly before 6pm. Officers will remain in the area throughout the night.

Bedfordshire Police are now appealing for help in identifying the woman killed in the collision last night.

Statement from Bedfordshire Police: “The woman who died following a road traffic collision in Kempston yesterday (Thursday) has now been identified and we are in the process of informing her next of kin. Thank you to everyone for sharing our appeal. Our thoughts are with her friends and family at this time.”
