Tom has been front and centre of sport in the town since 2016, writing for various publications before joining the Bedford Independent team, primarily as the Bedford Blues reporter in August 2019.
Tom later stepped into the new role of Sport Editor in 2022, and has since written about a wide variety of sports across Bedford Borough, incorporating professional, semi-pro and grassroots sport.
As the Sport Editor of the Bedford Independent, Tom leads the title’s sporting coverage, with relationships across clubs, community groups and individuals who have gone on to make the professional game.
Born in Bedford, Tom has lived in the town all his life and has been part of multiple community clubs over the years, including Bedford Cricket Club, Bedford Park Rangers, and Riverside Tennis Club, among others.
He is also a qualified football referee and cricket umpire.
