Witnesses sought after Castle Road robbery

In the early hours of Sunday morning, a man and a woman were taken to hospital and treated for their injuries following an assault and robbery on Castle Road

Bedfordshire Police were called at around 12:16am today (Sunday) to a report that a man and woman had been assaulted following a robbery in Bedford.

The incident happened at the junction of Castle Road and York Street when a man grabbed the woman’s handbag from her shoulder.

The assailant is described as having a beard and was wearing a woolly hat and dark clothes. He was on a push bike and headed off in the direction of Russell Park.

Officers attended and the man and woman were taken to hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.
