Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard return to Esquires to showcase brand-new material. Their previous Bedford show was a recent highlight also it’s great to see them return in 2023.
Following on from their Welsh Music Prize nominated debut album, ‘Backhand Deals’ in 2022, the band have been writing and recording at frontman and producer Tom Rees’s Rat Trap studio, the room where Rees has previously recorded and produced tracks for emerging talent – Panic Shack, Do Nothing and The Bug Club.
Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard’s new music takes the fast-paced energy from the band’s debut Non-Stop EP and twists it with a heavier guitar sound which stems from Tom’s teen obsessions with Black Sabbath and The White Stripes.

Celebrate the Coronation in style at Esquires as local indie pop legends Bowfinger roll into town.
Bowfinger formed in 2000 from the ashes of Brilliant Things and Sheen with influences The Jam, Costello, The Clash and 60’s bands such as The Beatles, The Kinks and The Small Faces. Throw them all in a mix and you have Bowfinger. We have to write songs with hooks and melodies – it’s in our DNA.
Carbon Daydreams is a Bedfordshire-based indie rock/pop band taking inspiration from 80s and 90s indie and alternative rock to write their own brand of catchy, high-tempo songs.
Expect guitar melodies unashamedly influenced by Johnny Marr and intricate, unexpected bass lines, which create the context for compelling lyrics, and disco-inspired rhythms.
Young, up-and-coming Bedford-based band, Daybreak, write and perform all their own material taking influences from Coldplay & Radiohead.

The founder and director of Women in Hebron, Nawal Slemiah, will visit Bedford as a guest of Friends of Al Walaja to exhibit textiles and handicrafts made by the cooperative of Palestinan women. At 7.30pm, Nawal will be speaking about the problems of living under occupation in Hebron, where settler violence is common. Again the embroidery items will be available for sale.

Sarod-maestro Irfan Muhammad Khan is the last representative of a musical family dynasty in India – the Lucknow-Shahjahanpur-Gharana.
He has performed and conducted workshops widely in India, Europe, USA and neighbouring countries. He has also participated in seminars conducted by Sangeet Research Academy at Mumbai and Kings College, London, also performing at the Sarod Festival, under the auspices of the Ustad Hafiz Ali Khan Memor Society.
Deepa Hattangady Karnad is noted for her mellifluous voice and possess an extensive depth of repertoire, Deepa’s performances synthesize a fine blend of technical virtuosity and aesthetics spanning the Agra, Gwalior, Kirana and the Patiala gharanas.
Her music reflects her intense training which she received from iconic Gurus over the decades include Vidushi Smt.
Amritpal Singh Rasiya is UK’s foremost representative of the Ustad Alla Rakha legacy. A vibrant musician whose recognition is growing fast to be one of Europe’s leading Tabla players, representing the ‘Punjab Gharana’ school of Tabla and senior disciple of one of the world’s finest Tabla players, Pandit Yogesh Samsi.

Anyone that has seen the ‘Mad Mods’ live will tell you that they are no traditional covers band. Their energetic performances have built them a massive following and they have a reputation for packing every venue they play at, and then bringing the house down!
Their repertoire includes hits from The Who, Small Faces, The Kinks, Rolling Stones, Spencer Davis, Yardbirds, The Jam and many more, and yes, they’ve even been known to smash the odd guitar up on stage!

There will be an array of savoury snacks too; filled flatbreads and the best scotch eggs around – both of which have V & GF options too.

duration and covers a distance of one or two miles. Most walks are suitable for people who are less mobile.
Children of all ages are most welcome on all of our walks but those aged 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Each walk costs £3.00 per adult or £1.50 for children over 8. All walks must be pre-booked.
