Tomorrow marks deadline for responses to Bedford solar scheme

People who have received an offer for Bedford Borough Council’s Solar Together scheme are being reminded they have until tomorrow to respond.

The scheme helps organise group purchases of solar panels and battery storage to help communities invest in renewable energy.

The Solar Together Bedfordshire scheme, launched in May, offered residents an opportunity to generate their own electricity, helping them to save on energy bills and reduce their carbon emissions.

People who signed up to join Solar Together Bedfordshire will have recently received an offer letter, advising them how much installation will cost if they would like to proceed with the scheme.

The deadline for residents to reply to their offers is tomorrow, Friday, 12 August 2022.

Councillor Charles Royden, Portfolio Holder for Environment, said: “The Solar Together Bedfordshire scheme is a great way for residents to transition to clean energy and reduce their dependence on the grid.

“We’d like to encourage everyone who has received an offer to make their decision and send their response back before Friday 12 August.”

If anyone has any questions about their quote, they can ask for advice by contacting the Solar Together helpdesk by email: bedfordshire@solartogether.co.uk or by phone: 0800 098 8994 (Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm).
