Three-vehicle collision closes Great Ouse Way for three hours

A collision involving three vehicles on the Great Ouse Way caused the road to be closed for three hours yesterday (Wednesday 21 August), creating traffic chaos into Bedford.

Police were called at around 4pm to the incident on The Great Ouse Way near the roundabout before the Aldi store.

“One person sustained minor injuries and the road was closed whilst recovery was arranged for the three vehicles,” said a Bedfordshire Police spokesperson.

With the closure of Bromham Road Bridge, drivers heading to Bedford town centre were forced to divert through North Bedfordshire villages.

The road was reopened at just after 7pm.
