Bedford Hospital Charity raised over £2,500 at a supper club with a difference hosted at the new McDonald’s restaurant on Goldington Road.
Although the event featured the normal full McDonald’s menu, including Big Macs and Chicken McNuggets, all meals were served with a side salad and fries on china plates.

Guests were greeted with canapés of Red Leicester melts, fish fingers and McNuggets and the tables were laid with table cloths, wine glasses, cutlery and china.

“The amount of money raised that evening was an amazing £2,630, the most we’ve ever achieved at one of our supper clubs,” said the charity’s Deborah Inskip.

“It was so generous of Ann-Marie and Ismail Anilmis to invite Bedford Hospital Charity & Friends to host a Supper Club at the sparkly new McDonald’s.

“They were really excited to be able to show-off the restaurant making it very special with tablecloths, candlebras, silver service and lots of smiling and friendly serving staff.

“It was a wonderful evening with a real party feel to it. We also had beautiful sax music from Adrian Bullers who is an old friend of mine from the time we both played in the Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra!

“The guests had a fabulous time and many of them said they would be returning soon! All in all a great evening, huge fun and raising an amount never reached before by one of our supper clubs.”
