Nearly 200 Stagecoach East drivers have been recognised for their commitment to road safety and fuel-efficient driving, with more than 50 achieving the highest level of recognition.
The awards, presented by driver safety specialists GreenRoad, monitor driver performance across the company and recognise those who consistently demonstrate outstanding safety standards.
A total of 188 drivers have been awarded Fleet Elite status for their skill in reducing risk, improving passenger safety, and cutting fuel consumption.
Among them, 54 drivers reached Grand Master or Master status, having maintained the highest standards of safe and efficient driving for ten and four years, respectively.
An additional 19 drivers achieved Gold status for three years of excellence, while 41 earned Silver and 74 were awarded Green status.
Ross Barton, operations director of Stagecoach East, praised the drivers’ efforts. “As a bus operator, one of our core values is to ‘do the right thing,’ and that means the safety of our staff and passengers is our number one priority.
“I am extremely proud that such a huge number of our drivers have been recognised for their driving excellence.
“Being part of the GreenRoad Fleet Elite is a prestigious achievement for any bus driver, so a massive congratulations to all 188 drivers. What a fantastic accomplishment.”
Stagecoach East drivers have a strong track record of going above and beyond. Last week, driver Paul McCarthy was awarded the Mick Capper Award after potentially saving the life of a passenger who suffered a suspected heart attack on his bus.
