Anticipation is building ahead of this summer’s Bedford River Festival and there are lots of ways in which Bedford’s sporting communities can get involved.
This year’s festival takes place on 20 and 21 of July and continues its rich history of bringing the community together.
The event will once again showcase the best of Bedford, including the wealth of sporting activities the Borough has to offer from local clubs, organisations and enthusiasts.
Sports Island – located between the Butterfly Bridge to Newnham Bridge – has been a popular feature of the event for years and in 2022 saw a quarter of a million visitors discover new activities, watch incredible demonstrations and try something new.
Previous activities have included blind shooting, table tennis robots, climbing walls, free running, skateboarding, street dancing and exercise classes – with even more added this year.
Big or small, professional or recreational, all groups are extended an invitation to get involved in Sports Island.
The celebration of passion for sport and physical activity is the forefront of criteria for participation.
