Bedford Park Concerts say Scouting For Girls will be Olly Murs’ special guests when they kick off their summer concert series next year.
The team, who have been bringing some of the world’s best artists to town for 25 years, are putting on an extended four-day event in 2021, with Olly Murs opening up the increasingly popular live gigs.
Now, they’ve announced that indie-pop three-piece Scouting For Girls will be his special guest.
Friends since they were five, the band members Roy Stride, Pete Ellard, and Greg Churchouse shot to fame with their 2007 self-titled debut album.
It went on to become triple platinum with anthems such as ‘She’s So Lovely’, ‘Elvis Ain’t Dead’ and ‘Heartbeat’.
They’ve picked up nominations for four Brits, an Ivor Novello and played everywhere from a sold-out Wembley Arena to countless festival stages.
Scouting For Girls are currently enjoying an excellent reception to their new album ‘Easy Cover’, which invites us all back to the music and culture of their childhoods in the 1980s.
The band regrouped during what should have been a summer of festivals, and the result is said to be a joyous album of 80s covers and incredible new tracks.
Making the announcement on their Facebook page, Bedford Park Concerts said: “Scouting For Girls have optimism that 2021 can be everything that 2020 was not – and they’re bringing that positive attitude to Bedford.”
