Reduced train service from Bedford to London following damaged overhead cables

The upgrade of Bedford Midland Station has put homes in the Poets Area at risk

Passengers between Bedford and London can expect disruption to their journey and packed trains today (Thursday) as Network Rail is running a reduced service.

Passengers are urged to check train information before they make travel plans.

Damage to the overhead electric wires between Harpenden and Bedford is causing disruption to journeys between London St Pancras International and Bedford.

As a result, a reduced service is in operation and trains could be subject to delay or cancellation.

Network Rail teams are currently on-site working to resolve the issues but disruption is expected throughout the day.

A Spokesperson for Network Rail said,“We apologies for any inconvenience this disruption may cause. We are working hard to resolve the issues as fast and as safely as possible.

“We thank you for your patience and understating as we carry out this emergency work.”
