On the football pitch, Real Bedford have enjoyed a spectacular season with the Men’s and Women’s sides winning their respective leagues along with cup triumphs, but now the club have expanded into other sports in announcing a new special merger.

Team Beds Netball, widely considered to be one of the county’s top performance clubs, will change their name to Real Bedford Netball and take on the branding with an injection of funding to help boost the profile of the sport.

It will also provide a key opportunity to promote Women’s sport across the Borough and beyond.

This comes as Real Bedford, and it’s co-owner Peter McCormack, look to branch out into spheres outside the dimensions of a football pitch.

“We’re excited to partner with Team Beds under the Real Bedford brand and grow our support for talented young sports girls in Bedford”, said McCormack who also announced his ‘Bedford Future Fund’ this week in an effort to give young people an opportunity to reach their potential.

“We are super excited to be partnering with Real Bedford FC. We feel like this partnership is going to strengthen not only sport in Bedfordshire but also women in sport”, commented Team Beds Head Coach, Hayley MacKellar.

Chair of Team Beds Netball Jo Randall added, “The merger with Real Bedford is such an exciting opportunity for us as a club.

“We are ambitious and passionate about netball and female sport in Bedfordshire, and this investment enables us to keep driving the club upwards and giving our players the best experiences and opportunities possible.”
