Police officers searching for missing Bedford man Alan have discovered a body on land near the Oasis Beach Pool.

Last night, family and friends, along with the emergency services, issued several appeals across social media for anyone who may have seen him to come forward after he went missing. He was last seen near Bedford Hospital, South Wing.

As temperatures dropped to below freezing last night (Friday), family and friends joined the search to find Alan, who was described in the appeals as having dementia and being extremely vulnerable.

In a statement on social media, Bedfordshire Police said officers were ‘called to land near to the Oasis Beach Pool in Bedford shortly before 9am today (Saturday).’

They added that a man was ‘sadly pronounced dead at the scene’ and ‘has been ‘identified as missing Alan. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

‘Alan’s family are aware and being supported by officers.’
