Police searching for man after racist takeaway assault

Police have now released a CCTV image of the man they want to talk to in connection with the attack

Bedfordshire Police say they’re keen to speak to a man after a racially aggravated assault in takeaway on London Road, Bedford.

At around midnight on 18 April, two men got into an argument in the Golden Star Chinese takeaway

This resulted in one man racially abusing the victim before he was kicked and punched and then knocked to the floor where the assault continued.

Officers have now released an image of the man who they say may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Sergant Carl Perri, said: “We believe there may have been a number of people who witnessed this altercation, and would urge anyone who may have seen this incident, or who knows the man pictured, to come forward with information.”

People with information are asked to get in touch using the Bedfordshire Police online reporting centre, or by calling police on 101 quoting reference 40/22222/19.
