Police descend on Turvey after body discovered in field

After the discovery of a body, detectives launched a murder investigation

Bedfordshire Police say they’re investigating an unexplained death after the body of a man was found in a field along Carlton Road, Turvey.

Around 15 forensic officers were said to be scouring a field last night (Thursday), with protection tents also raised to protect evidence.

There was still a large police presence there this morning with a welfare unit on the scene and multiple farm entrances also taped off and guarded by police.

A spokesperson from Bedfordshire Police told the Bedford Independent: “Officers were called at around 4.30pm yesterday (Thursday) following the discovery of a body.

“The man has yet to be formally identified.”

Anyone with any information that might help the police investigation is asked to contact them at Bedfordshire.police.uk/report or call 101, quoting Operation Helianthus.
