An Ofsted report on Central Bedfordshire Council is due to be published next week (April 24), a meeting heard.

Amanda Gordon, director of children and families, told the Corporate Parenting Board (16 April) that she cannot share any details until then.

“[We] will make sure that it is sent out to all the key players, all of the other members who are also corporate parents,” she said.

“But I didn’t want to lose the opportunity to bring in some thoughts about the learning that is going to come out of that report for us today.

“There were many, many strengths in the report, lots of things about the impact on the outcome for our children across the board. But particularly our children that continue to live in our care and our care leavers,” she said.

The board was told that there are “some areas that we need to pay attention to”.

“So we do think that we might want to take stock and make sure that those things are aligned,” she said.
