New signage welcomes residents and visitors to Queen’s Park

Bedford and Kempston MP and former Queen’s Park councillor, Mohammad Yasin, has welcomed new signage in the area, saying that Queen’s Park is finally getting the recognition it deserves.

The new ‘Welcome to Queen’s Park’ signs have been erected on Ford End Road and Hurst Grove, as requested by local Borough Councillors Nesreen Akhtar and Mohammed Masud.

Cllr Nesreen Akhtar said: “Queen’s Park is such a good place to live, we want to encourage pride in our part of Bedford, which is a thriving community.

“We are constantly seeking ways to enhance and improve the area.”

Cllr Mohammed Masud said: “Any ideas or projects local people can think of to make Queen’s Park better, please feel free to get in touch with us and we will see what we can do to help.”

Former Queen’s Park councillor, Mohammad Yasin MP said, “Well done to Nesreen and Masud. I am glad the signs are finally installed and Queen’s Park gets the recognition it deserves.”

Now more than ever, we need your help to fund the Bedford Independent’s quality journalism that serves our community...

We choose to champion editorial independence, meaning we report the facts without bias and can stand up to those in power when we believe it’s needed.

We can give a voice to people in our community whose voices may otherwise not be heard. And we don’t have a paywall, so everyone can read the stories we publish for free.

But in this time of crisis, many news organisations all over the world are facing existential threat, with advertising revenues plummeting. We’re no different.

We work hard every day to bring you news, commentary, entertainment and announcements from across Bedford. We hope that, with your help, we’ll be able to continue this for many years to come.
