Met office say heavy snow could hit Bedford this week

The Met office have issued a yellow weather warning for Bedford, saying heavy snow could fall overnight on Tuesday (29 Jan) and into Wednesday (30 Jan) morning.

And after a short break there’s an 80% chance it will be back again mid-afternoon Thursday, falling until midday on Friday.

There’s a 60% chance snow will fall, possibly heavy at times, from about 5pm onwards on Tuesday. It’s expected to continue until about midday the following day.

As part of the warning, the Met office suggesting people prepare for “travel delays on roads and delayed or cancelled rail and air travel”.

They also warn that there is a slight chance that some rural communities could become cut off.

Even if snow doesn’t fall, temperatures are still expected to drop as low as -3ºc next week, so remember to wrap up warm and check on vulnerable neighbours and loved ones.
