Marketing meetup will look at evolving Bedford businesses

Marketing Meetup

A free Marketing Meetup event next week will look at how businesses in Bedford are adapting and evolving to changing trends and helping Bedford to continue punching above its weight.

Organised by organised by Nicola O’Loughlin of Woodfines Solictors and Fiona Baillie of Optimis Consulting, the Marketing Meetup: Bedford, is an informal, friendly place for the marketers of Bedfordshire to meet, learn, and share knowledge with one another.

The event at Bedford Heights on 10 July will be their 10th meeting, so organisers have set a theme for the event that will look at how Bedford business is adapting to 21st century needs.

As well as giving attendees a chance to network and create new contacts, organisers have invited two speakers to talk about how their businesses are evolving to current trends and disrupting the market to meet 21st audience demands.

Bedford Independent’s Paul Hutchinson will look at the inception of Bedford’s 21st news desk, why it’s primarily online and what it’s doing to help influence news reporting not just in Bedford but in other parts of the UK too.

“The internet is the only source of news showing growth, so how can marketing and PR managers capitalise on this?” says Paul.

“We’re really excited to be able to share with attendees what we’ve found out about online news in our own research and learnt through our own experiences.”

Meanwhile, Tom Foddy of Wells & Co Charles Wells will look at how the fifth generation of Wells’ are responding to changing trends and making their own mark on one of Bedford’s oldest businesses.

The event starts at 6pm with drinks and snacks. To register your attendance, head to Marketing Meetup website.

Now more than ever, we need your help to fund the Bedford Independent’s quality journalism that serves our community...

We choose to champion editorial independence, meaning we report the facts without bias and can stand up to those in power when we believe it’s needed.

We can give a voice to people in our community whose voices may otherwise not be heard. And we don’t have a paywall, so everyone can read the stories we publish for free.

But in this time of crisis, many news organisations all over the world are facing existential threat, with advertising revenues plummeting. We’re no different.

We work hard every day to bring you news, commentary, entertainment and announcements from across Bedford. We hope that, with your help, we’ll be able to continue this for many years to come.
