Man charged with two Kempston burglaries

Bedfordshire Police have charged a 27-year-old man with a string of offences in Bruce Road and Balliol Road, Kempston yesterday.

The police helicopter was called to help find Sweeney yesterday morning as officers and police dogs on the ground tried to track him down.

Lowen Sweeney, 27, of Henderson Way, Kempston, was charged with burglary dwelling, attempted burglary dwelling, assaulting police officers in the execution of their duty and using threatening behaviour.

He was remanded in custody, after an appearance at Luton Magistrates’ Court today, pending a further court appearance at a later date.
