A man has been arrested after a stabbing in Cromwell Road, Queen’s Park in Bedford earlier today (Saturday).

The victim, another man, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the man arrested in connection with the incident is also receiving medical treatment.

“I understand the huge community concern this has caused in the Queen’s Park area,” said Detective Superintendent Steve Ashdown.

“The victim is in the best possible hands in hospital and we have now got someone in custody in connection to this attack.

“There will be a very visible police presence in the area this evening to continue our investigation and provide reassurance.

“We are taking this incident really seriously and would encourage anyone with information to speak to us and help us with our enquiries.”
