The completion of Bedford Greenacre Independent (BGI) School’s new site on Manton Lane is one step closer following the ‘Topping Off Ceremony’ to mark reaching the highest point of the development.

The event on Wednesday (5 June) was attended by the Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, Susan Lousada, along with pupils, trustees, governors, staff and representatives of Pellikaan Construction.

The new school, which was formed by a merger between Rushmoor boys’ school and St Andrew’s School for girls, will be open in Spring 2025.

The school principal, Mr Daniel, said: “We are very excited to be able to build this new development for our pupils. This new building means we can finally come together on one site, with 40-acres of land for the pupils to enjoy.

“The location is first class and it will be a wonderful environment for teaching and learning. The School also plans to allow community use of our facilities to provide opportunities for other children and adults in Bedfordshire”.

Mr Daniel said the new school had been years in the planning said the BGI team was proud to be working with Pellikaan Construction, HSBC and Lungfish Architects on the new state-of-the art development.

“It is great to see the construction moving at pace,” he said.
