Letters: Planning fiasco

Dear editor,

The development in Sharnbrook is site 238 in the Sharnbrook Neighbourhood plan.

As the Sharnbrook Neighbourhood Plan has yet to be adopted it seems strange, maybe even unethical, that the Borough Council has granted permission on a site that the Sharnbrook Neighbourhood Plan may reject.

An elected member of Bedford Borough Council justified adding 500 new houses to the 900 existing houses in Sharnbrook by saying the people like to live in villages and would be keen to move to the lovely village of Sharnbrook, Sharnbrook would become a town when those 500 houses are added.

No more lovely village, a town with already in-adequate transport to places of employment.
