A garden in Stevington has been nominated as one of the 30 favourite National Garden Scheme gardens in a national competition.

The stunning Kathy Brown’s Garden at the Manor House in Stevington has been nominated by English Garden Magazine and they need your vote to win.

Bedford-based gardening writer and podcaster, Jane Perrone said, “It’s wonderful to see this beautiful, accomplished and creative garden get some recognition. Every time I visit there is something stunning to see.

“Kathy and Simon Brown should be proud at what they’ve achieved…a garden that’s both conceptual and gorgeous.”

Until the end of September, you’ve got the chance to choose Kathy’s garden as the best in the East of England.

Every vote gives you the chance to win a Viking Cruise on the River Danube.

“We’re very excited to be nominated, but we’re up against some very big names,” said Kathy. “It’s very good indeed that Bedfordshire is represented.”

You can cast your vote here.

The garden is open to visitors from 1pm until 5pm every Tuesday between 23 April – 24 September 2019, and every bank holiday Monday.

Entrance to the garden is £6 per Adult. Under 16’s Free. Tea and home-made cakes are usually served from 3pm for £4 per person.

Now more than ever, we need your help to fund the Bedford Independent’s quality journalism that serves our community...

We choose to champion editorial independence, meaning we report the facts without bias and can stand up to those in power when we believe it’s needed.

We can give a voice to people in our community whose voices may otherwise not be heard. And we don’t have a paywall, so everyone can read the stories we publish for free.

But in this time of crisis, many news organisations all over the world are facing existential threat, with advertising revenues plummeting. We’re no different.

We work hard every day to bring you news, commentary, entertainment and announcements from across Bedford. We hope that, with your help, we’ll be able to continue this for many years to come.
