Popular fast food chain, German Doner Kebab (GDK) has announced it will be opening a new store in Bedford following a consistent streak of successful openings across the UK.

As one of the fastest-growing restaurant groups nationwide, GDK is well-known for its unique take on the doner kebab fast food restaurant and is now bringing its menu to Bedford High Street, creating 30 jobs.

It will be the brand’s 140th franchised location in the UK, when it opens sometime in April.

The restaurant group says they use only premium cuts of meat, fresh locally sourced vegetables, signature sauces made daily in each location and hand-made bread in GDK’s signature toasted waffle pattern.

Orders are prepared in open-style kitchens to allow customers to experience the freshness first-hand.

Simon Wallis, CEO of GDK said: “I am thrilled to officially announce plans to bring the unique GDK taste sensation to Bedford’s High Street. GDK is revolutionising kebabs across the UK and I am confident we will continue this trend in Bedford.

“GDK offers a premium dining experience with game-changing kebabs that are made fresh daily by our hard-working team powered by our fantastic franchise partners.

“We pride ourselves in ensuring that kebabs are done right and served in a modern and relaxed environment, making it a unique restaurant experience for all new members of the ever-growing GDK community”.

The Bedford restaurant will be at 73 High Street, Bedford, (on the corner of Mill Street) with a takeaway service for those on the go from the GDK app, Deliveroo, UberEats and Just Eat.
