Following winning the Young Achiever Award (Ages 14-21) in the Bedford Independent Everyday Heroes awards, Urban Judge continues to stay dedicated to YouthTV and his “commitment to supporting young people.”
The 19-year-old, from Kempston, won the 2024 award for his work in “founding YouthTV at 13 and leading initiatives to empower young people and promote women’s voices in Bedford.”

When looking back at the Everyday Hero Award win, Urban said: “It was kind of like an out-of-body experience. It didn’t feel real. It was just unexpected.
“When I was awarded, I was like I’m not a hero, but people say it’s because of my commitment to supporting young people and becoming a hero for young people.
He added, “I’m very proud and privileged that people have thought that I deserve to win, and I think it just shows to me that I have commitment in myself. I’m just going to keep going, and nothing’s going to stop me.”
The young achiever founded YouthTV at just 13, which came from an idea brought up at a youth club.

It has now turned into a leading youth-led production company in the UK, creating and producing content across news, entertainment, sport, wellbeing, podcasts, and digital series.
“We just decided to go with it, and it’s still going today, because people love it and need it.”, said Urban.
Since winning the Everyday Hero Award, YouthTV has been running networking events for young people called YouthTV Connect.
Urban, YouthTV’s CEO, said: “Our main goal is to be the platform for young people, as we inspire the next generation of content creators and innovators and are shaping what’s to come and are the future of the media.
“It’s for everyone. It’s for young people, families, communities, and we engage, educate, and empower, through content, events and opportunities that bring people together.”, explained the CEO of YouthTV.
Next year, YouthTV will be hosting its own YouthTV Aspire Awards – an award ceremony dedicated to supporting young people, as well as launching a leadership programme starting in the summer, with two brand new podcasts joining the YouthTV roster.
