Bedford’s nearest horse racing track at Huntingdon is hosting an RSA ‘Syndicate Night’ on Tuesday, 19 May in an effort to boost horseracing ownership.
This comes after Huntingdon’s latest six-race card on 7 May, as the track’s season comes to an end, although there are still two meetings to come before the summer break.
Huntingdon’s next meeting comes hot on the heels of their latest meeting on Thursday, 7 May, in which Braganza Bay proved he has a soft spot for the area when landing a third career success at the track.
The nine-year-old hasn’t always been the most straightforward horse in training, but he certainly seems to have a liking for the Cambridgeshire air, as he showed once again last Thursday (7 May).
Henry Daly’s charge had to be hassled by jockey Sam Twiston-Davies throughout, but he found plenty in the closing stages for an 11-length success, to extend a remarkable record.
Indeed, each of Braganza Bay’s five career wins have come at Huntingdon or Hereford, leading to his trainer to promise that he’ll be back at the track in the future.
He said: “You never know with him, you genuinely never know. He’s only won at courses beginning with an ‘H’, it’s Hereford or Huntingdon and we know that now, we don’t go anywhere else!
“He has plenty of talent, it’s just a question of which day he turns up on his A-game. We’ll keep going summer jumping now as it seems a bit daft to stop at this stage.”

Racing returns to Huntingdon on Tuesday, 19 May with an ‘RSA Syndicate Night’, themed around encouraging more people to consider racehorse ownership.
The six-race card will give ownership groups the chance to showcase the thrills of owning a horse, with shares starting at a relatively small sum.
General Manager, Daniel Craggs commented: “It’s been a fantastic season at Huntingdon and we have two more fixtures this month before a well-deserved break for the team.
“First up is our syndicate night, which should be a great evening of fun.
“Most people associate owning a racehorse with vast sums, but the landscape has changed and you can buy micro-shares in exciting horses for relatively small sums.
“The entries are looking great for Tuesday evening and it’s worth noting that you can get tickets for just £10 in advance. We’d love to have you along for what promises to be a fantastic night of sport.”
