Bedford’s successful Storm martial arts team recently competed in the Emtf-Uk British Championships held in Rushden, and brought home 30 gold medals.

In addition, the team’s 15-year old Julia Gorniak was crowned Junior Female Grand Champion.

Storm – which practices a blend of Tang Soo Do and kickboxing – trains at the Pavilion in Biddenham, with members ranging in age from 5 to 60 years old.

Their youngest medalist was five-year old Guiseppe Rampello.

“Here at Storm we provide a welcoming family environment,” said Master Anesh Kumar, Chief instructor of Storm and Head Coach Team GB.

“I’m trying to teach all students that with a bit hard work and dedication anything is possible. This belief prevailed in the tournament and I am extremely proud and humbled to be their instructor.”

Team Storm is now getting ready for the European Championships which will be held in Holland in October with the aim to qualify for the World Champions in Malaysia 2020.
