Bedfordians are being asked to make sure they put their views across on the Borough Council’s housing strategy up to 2026.
The consultation, which is now open until 18 August, will look at four objectives:
- Understanding Housing Need
- Delivering the Homes Required
- Making Best Use of Existing Housing
- Meeting the Housing Needs of Vulnerable People
A council spokesperson said: “Having a good place to live is key to an individual’s health and wellbeing and this Strategy sets out the Council’s four key objectives for local housing over the five year time period.”
The Council says they and their partners have already seen successes from their Housing Strategy Review (2016-2020).
This includes reducing rough sleeping, adapting 440 homes to support those with disabilities, and bringing 300 empty properties back into use.

Paper copies are available to view by appointment at the Borough Council’s Customer Service Centre in Horne Lane. All Parish Councils have also been sent a paper copy.
