Emma was born and bred in Bedford and has lived on the Goldington/Riverfield border for over 20 years. She says the area runs deep in her veins and her great-grandmother taught at Goldington Green School in the early 1900s. She says she cares about the town, how it is run, and how its people are looked after.

“Because of this and now that my three sons have grown up, I am standing for election in the Riverfield ward,” said Emma.

“I know that residents are concerned about anti-social behaviour and litter, especially around the Country Park area and unpleasant smells from the local sewage works.

“There are some great facilities in the area, but there is also a risk of overdevelopment, for example the redevelopment of the new KFC into a drive-thru and new distribution centres planned for opposite Go Outdoors and the increased traffic these will cause.”

If elected, Emma is interested to hear residents’ views on how the area can be improved and protected.

“As a Green, I would not be whipped to a party line and so can vote independently and really stand up for Riverfield ward,” she said.
