Foresters Arms celebrates double win at Wells & Co. Pub Partner Awards

The winning team

The team at the Foresters Arms on Union Street is celebrating after picking up two accolades at Wells & Co.’s annual Pub Partner Awards.

The pub fought off tough competition from the business’ pub partners to take home two awards, including Best Newcomer and the Rising Star award.

The Foresters reopened in 2018, having lain empty for some time. The team was commended for their efforts in quickly re-establishing the pub and was recognised by the judges for its focus on supporting local sports and interest groups.

In addition to the overall win for the pub, dedicated team member Dianne Hawreliak Cuillierrier, known affectionately as ‘pub mum’, also took home the Rising Star award.

Dianne said, “I’m lost for words. I go to work and I do my job to the best of my ability; for my peers to nominate me for this award is just staggering. I’m truly humbled.”

Managing director of Wells & Co., Peter Wells, said, “Our awards last week were a fitting celebration to what has been another exciting year for Wells & Co. and our pub partners, and we are very proud of each and every one of the winners.

“This is our third time hosting the annual Pub Partner Awards, and they have become an integral part of our business.

“It’s vital to recognise the outstanding contribution that each team has given throughout the course of the year. Seeing what great things have come over 2019, we’re all very excited about what 2020 has to offer.”

Hosted at The Bedford Swan Hotel, the Wells & Co. Awards champions the best performing pub partners within its UK estate and raised money for their fundraising partner, Prostate Cancer UK.
