Elstow Abbey will host a service of prayer and reflection tomorrow (Friday) to support the community following the recent fatal rail incident near Bedford station.
The short service offers an opportunity for local people to remember train driver Shaun Burton, pray for the injured, and hold everyone affected in their thoughts.
The Bishop of Bedford and the Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire are hosting the event jointly on behalf of the local community.

It will also provide an occasion to give thanks to the emergency services, volunteers, and rail staff who responded to the tragedy.
The service begins at 5pm at Elstow Abbey, located at MK42 9XT, and organisers welcome all members of the public.

Attendees will observe a period of silence at 5.15pm to mark exactly one week since the incident occurred.
The Bishop of Bedford, the Right Reverend Richard Atkinson, said: “This tragedy has had a profound impact on families, railway colleagues, and our entire community.”
Atkinson explained that the service provides a simple, quiet space for anyone wishing to find support alongside neighbours.
