Following the huge success of their last event, Sustrans will be back this weekend, accepting donations of unused and neglected bikes.
The bikes will be repaired and made road-safe by their team, before being donated to key workers and job seekers.
Sustrans’ team will be at the Prebend Street car park on Saturday (18 July) from 9am until noon, and anyone wanting to donate a bike is asked to book their appointment here.
“Our last event was a huge success,” said Chloe Crowther, Sustrans’ active travel officer.
“Despite the pouring rain we received 72 bikes which are currently being repaired and have begun to be donated to key workers and job seekers.
“So a huge thank you to everyone that made the journey to donate their bike.”
Sustrans are now collaborating with Bedford Hospital Charity & Friends who, along with the The Rotary Club of Bedford Park, have a team on hand ready to repair and made road worthy any donated bikes and give these back to NHS key workers.
