Over 60 young dancers from across Central Bedfordshire are preparing to take on the UDO World Street Dance Championships for the third year in a row this August, as the dazzling lights of Blackpool await.
Dancers from Fundamentalz Dance, based in Ampthill and Wixams, have qualified across multiple team, crew, and individual disciplines, and are now training hard to represent the county and England on the global stage.
They will be competing against the best street dance talent from more than 40 countries around the world.
Age categories range from as young as Under-6 all the way through to Under-18, with an adult category also included as solo dancers, duos and trioquads lead the way with battles also taking place in the “Las Vegas of the North”.
Students as young as six years old from across the town and beyond will be heading to the Winter Gardens in Blackpool in August for four days of intense competition.
They’ll be hoping to match and improve on the success of the school’s senior Gen-Z team that placed fourth in the Under-16 team category at least year’s event, which took place at the same venue.
Mia Beaney, 20, is the principal of Fundamentalz Dance and will also be competing at the World Championship:

The World Street Dance Championships take place on Wednesday 13 August at Winter Gardens, 97 Church Street, Blackpool.
