Bedford Borough Council is on the lookout for someone to run the Archers’ Rest Café in the heart of Great Denham.

The tender for the café lease is open for applications until 5 July and interested parties can also attend an open day tomorrow (Wednesday 23 June), to find out more.

Great Denham County Park runs along the River Great Ouse, with a children’s playground, football pitches and games areas, along with cycle and jogging routes. When restrictions allow, it is home to the popular weekly Parkrun event, too.

The Archers’ Rest Café is in a central location overlooking the park, playground and sports facilities with indoor and outdoor seating, and a fully fitted kitchen and storage area.

The tender for the café lease is now live, and available via the Council’s system or by visiting gov.uk/contracts-finder, searching for ‘Great Denham’ and clicking on ‘Lease Opportunity Great Denham Archers Rest Café’.

This tender will close on Monday 5 July.

Mayor Dave Hodgson said: “If you or someone you know may be interested in taking on this opportunity to bring a café to Great Denham Country Park, and join a number of successful and popular park cafes across our Borough, please do take a look at the tender and come along to the open day.

“Bedford Borough is fortunate to have many beautiful and well-loved parks, and it will be great to see this café open and bring a great service to this park for local residents and visitors.”
