Since opening in April, Not Another Jungle has – along with the town’s other aspirational independent traders – helped rewrite the retail rules in Bedford.

The shop front looks stunning, the plants spill onto the square and the welcome is warm and knowledgeable.

Owner Tony is determined to draw customers from near and far into Bedford – luring them first with plants, and now with the added benefit of top-notch coffee and cake.

Using local suppliers, he’s creating a new ‘anti-corporate culture’ and creating much more than just a retail destination.

“The support from customers and other businesses has been incredible since opening and we are growing each month as more people find out about Not Another Jungle and what we do here,” Tony Le Britton told the Bedford Clanger.

“Our experienced staff can help recommend the right plant for you and give you expert advice on how to care for it. We have the largest selection of plants of any houseplant shop in the UK from your first ever plant, easy care, pet safe and right up to rarer plants for die-hard collectors.”

Tony said that the new coffee offering has been the perfect addition to the shop.

“People are visiting throughout the week to get their fix of Yellow Bourbon coffee which is roasted in Northampton and has a real cult following. On a Saturday and Sunday we also have sweet treats by different indie bakers each week.”

So if you haven’t already, we recommend you swing by Not Another Jungle next time you’re passing – you never know what you’ll find.
