People from faith groups, trade unions, politicians, activists and British Palestinians will be joining together on Thursday (6 June) to hold a ‘Coalition for Gaza’ rally.

The Bedford Palestinian Solidarity Campaign is hosting the rally at the Transfiguration Hall in Kempston from 6.30pm on Thursday, with speakers representing Bedford’s diverse communities.

Speakers confirmed are parliamentary candidates including Labour’s Mohammad Yasin and Ben Foley from the Green Party, alongside Stop the War’s John Rees, Rev Andrea Maffei, Friends of Al Walaja Bedford, Imam Ayaz and Dalia Al-Saleh, a member of the Palestinian community in Bedford.

It is an open meeting and all are welcome.

“This will be a chance to stand together in solidarity and call for an end to the war and an end to the genocide in Gaza” said campaign chair, Rosie Newbigging.

“The horrifying scenes in Rafah this week make this rally even more necessary. We won’t stop protesting about the atrocities in Gaza. The atrocities must end, and a permanent and immediate ceasefire must happen. All Israeli and Palestinian hostages and illegally detained people must be released.”

She said the group’s peaceful protests in Bedford would continue. “We call for peace. Now.”
