Artists’ collective, The Circus of Illustration are holding a new exhibition to celebrate the multitude of people who have been involved with them over the past eight years.

The exhibition is in the beautiful setting of Bedford School’s Foyer Gallery, which is open to the public from this Friday 10 January until Tuesday 11 February.

The Circus of Illustration formed in 2012 with the aim of promoting illustration from Bedfordshire and beyond.

They host monthly themed Drink and Draw events, open to anyone over 18, at the Three Cups pub on Newnham Street and contribute to events and exhibitions throughout the year.

“Our new exhibition features work from founding members to the latest exhibitors, including artworks by seasoned designers to the freshest student talent,” said artist and Circus committee member, Katie Allen. “Everything’s for sale at affordable prices and everyone’s welcome.”

The Private View takes place this Friday from 7.30pm – 9pm, a chance to browse, meet the artists and have a glass of wine.

Opening times:
Mon-Fri 9.30am-4pm
Saturday 9am-12.15pm
Sunday closed

Now more than ever, we need your help to fund the Bedford Independent’s quality journalism that serves our community...

We choose to champion editorial independence, meaning we report the facts without bias and can stand up to those in power when we believe it’s needed.

We can give a voice to people in our community whose voices may otherwise not be heard. And we don’t have a paywall, so everyone can read the stories we publish for free.

But in this time of crisis, many news organisations all over the world are facing existential threat, with advertising revenues plummeting. We’re no different.

We work hard every day to bring you news, commentary, entertainment and announcements from across Bedford. We hope that, with your help, we’ll be able to continue this for many years to come.
