Check your festive bin dates as crews take a well-deserved Christmas break

2713

Bedford Borough residents are reminded that bins won’t be collected on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day as the crews enjoy a well-deserved bank holiday break.

All bin collections from 25 December until 18 January are affected and you can find the alternative collection dates above.

Collections will return to normal on Monday 18 January.

Bins need to be out by 6am on the day of collection to ensure they are emptied. As reported last week, extra recycling will be collected if left in a clear plastic sack or cardboard box. Large cardboard boxes, squashed and folded next to recycling bins will also be taken.

To check your bin collection dates, you can enter your postcode into the council website here: bedford.gov.uk/rubbish-recycling-and-waste/household-bins-and-recycling/check-bin-collection-day/

Now more than ever, we need your help to fund the Bedford Independent’s quality journalism that serves our community...

We choose to champion editorial independence, meaning we report the facts without bias and can stand up to those in power when we believe it’s needed.

We can give a voice to people in our community whose voices may otherwise not be heard. And we don’t have a paywall, so everyone can read the stories we publish for free.

But in this time of crisis, many news organisations all over the world are facing existential threat, with advertising revenues plummeting. We’re no different.

We work hard every day to bring you news, commentary, entertainment and announcements from across Bedford. We hope that, with your help, we’ll be able to continue this for many years to come.
