Everyone is invited to celebrate 50 years of Bedford Community Fire Station at its open day on Saturday 20 July.
The station opened on Barkers Lane in July 1969 and this year, the Service is celebrating half a century of keeping Bedford safe with a special open day.
The fun takes place from noon til 4pm and there will be a bouncy castle, BBQ, fund-raising raffle and the chance to dunk a firefighter.
Visitors will be able to see inside the community fire station, meet firefighters and find out more about fire engines and equipment used to deal with incidents from fires to water rescues.
Community safety advice will be available on the day as well as information about how to join the fire and rescue service.
Visit their website for further details and location information.
