CCTV captured the man breaking in to Thali & Tandoor

An Indian restaurant on Castle Lane had an unwanted visitor in the early hours of Tuesday morning (15 February), all captured on CCTV.

The video footage shows a man parking his bike outside Thali + Tandoor before sizing up the door. He then kicks the door several times before it gives way.

In a post on their Facebook page, the restaurant owners wrote: “We usually accept walk-ins and reservations six days a week.

“Our opening times are very specific and can be found on our website. We are not open at 2.45 am – which in this instance didn’t stop this ‘guest’.

“Any information in identifying this gentleman will be greatly appreciated.”

In a statement, Bedfordshire Police told the Bedford Independent: “We are investigating following the burglary of a restaurant in Castle Lane, Bedford.

“Between 12.30am and 11am on Tuesday (15 February) thieves broke in via the front door before stealing a till and electronic devices.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact us via 101 or though beds.police.uk/re/report. Please quote reference 40/9096/22.”
