2024 was a real breakout year for Bedford’s motor racing star, 21-year old Alex Walker, and with the 2025 British GT Championship season on the horizon, Walker is now looking to Bedford’s business community to help him stay on the grid.
It is notoriously expensive to fund a motor racing career, but with multiple British GT Championship podiums amongst a successful second season in 2024, Walker is keen to keep his progress going in his third in one of the nation’s most popular motor racing events.

The British GT Championship begins on 5 April at Donington Park, with the season’s media day taking place at the home of the British Grand Prix, Silverstone on 21 March.
The series will once again be featured regularly on Sky Sports with trips to all of the biggest motor racing circuits in the UK from Silverstone to Snetterton and Oulton Park to Brands Hatch on the cards.
There is also the international round, taking place once again at the famous Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, where Walker secured one of multiple podiums last season.

Alongside Sky Sports coverage, races are regularly streamed live on the British GT Championship YouTube channel and attracts large audiences with an average of over 10,000 fans attending each race week.

Alex has emerged as one of the leading young UK GT Professionals since moving across from a successful single seater career.
“Last year was a real break out year, both in terms of my driving where I led my first British GT race at Donington Park, but also getting my first podiums and spraying the champagne at the amazing Spa circuit”, said Walker.
“For 2025, I will be staying in the GT4 class, this time in a Mercedes AMG, and trying to capture my first title since moving across from single seaters to GT Racing.
“So far, I have raised most of the sponsorship for the season, but I am still short of the funding the smaller elements. I am appealing to the local business community to see if I can find new supporters who want to become part of my team, visiting the pits and being trackside.”
Alongside a podium at Spa, Walker also scored a second placed finish at Donington Park at the end of May 2024, with only a late safety car denying him a maiden victory, as well as competing in the BMW M2 Cup and tasting success in the Formula Ford Championship.
The future is looking extremely bright for the speedster, and you can be a part of it.
