Breaking News: Police searching river in Bedford find body

Bedfordshire Police have just announced that officers looking for a missing man in the River Great Ouse at Bedford, have located a body.

A statement from the force confirmed a body was found today (Friday) in the river by The Embankment, Bedford.

Earlier today a specialist dive team was called in to assist with the search.

A formal identification has yet to take place, but the next of kin has been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
