Breaking news: Emergency services in attendance at “major incident” at Redwood Grove

Redwood Grove off Elstow Road is closed and all emergency services are in attendance following a major incident this morning.

An eyewitness said there had been a loud explosion and that there was an “ongoing fire”.

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service has advised people to avoid the area and for nearby residents to keep their windows closed.

In a statement, Bedfordshire Police said: “We are aware of an incident this morning in Redwood Grove, Bedford.

“All emergency services are aware and are in attendance. Please note Redwood Grove is closed to please avoid the area for the moment.”
