The body found in the grounds of Bedford Academy has now been confirmed as a man in his 40s

Bedfordshire Police have confirmed that the body found at Mile Road yesterday (Monday) was of a man in his 40s.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Officers were called at around 7.50am yesterday following the discovery of a body near Bedford Academy.

Emergency services attended and a man in his 40’s was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed and specialist officers are working to support them.

A file will be prepared and passed to the coroner.
