From Monday 15th to Saturday 27th July, Bedford will host the 13th International Bedford Festival Fringe bringing to the town a carefully selected programme of comedy, theatre, live music, film, dance & physical theatre, spoken word and poetry to your doorstep.

The aim is to host up to 10,000 hours of entertainment at The Quarry Theatre and The Place Theatre during the festival dates.

Bedfringe’s festival director, James Pharaoh said: “We are proud to announce that this year’s festival will run for a massive two weeks from The Quarry Theatre and Place Theatre.

“We are also delighted to announce that the 2019 principal sponsor is already confirmed as Bedford School to which we are truly grateful as without their support, including their amazing Quarry Theatre venue, the two week format would not be possible.

“Additional confirmed sponsors at this time are: WeCanCreative, Roosters, Rosetta Publishing, LCH Production Services and our media sponsor, the Bedford Independent.

“The application process will open on Monday 21st January followed by a website facelift next month!

“We look forward to delivering one of the most exciting festivals in Bedfringe history! Watch this space for further updates”

Since 2007 Bedfringe has seen over 2200 acts pass through its doors establishing it on the world fringe map. In 2013 the festival ran for 3 weeks hosting 156 events, 495 performers in 18 venues and sold over 5000 tickets. It was the 4th largest Fringe Festival in the UK!

The team have also raised over £2,400 for charity in the past three years.

Now more than ever, we need your help to fund the Bedford Independent’s quality journalism that serves our community...

We choose to champion editorial independence, meaning we report the facts without bias and can stand up to those in power when we believe it’s needed.

We can give a voice to people in our community whose voices may otherwise not be heard. And we don’t have a paywall, so everyone can read the stories we publish for free.

But in this time of crisis, many news organisations all over the world are facing existential threat, with advertising revenues plummeting. We’re no different.

We work hard every day to bring you news, commentary, entertainment and announcements from across Bedford. We hope that, with your help, we’ll be able to continue this for many years to come.
