Bedfordshire Police request IOPC review after three injured in Willington tree collision

Bedfordshire Police have asked the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) to investigate after two teenagers and a man were injured in a road traffic collision in Willington.

Emergency services attended and all three where taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

We’re told that the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which is standard for situations like this following police contact, although details of the police contact prior to the collision are unclear at present.

Anyone who witnessed the vehicle in the area prior to the collision is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 47 of 4 August, or via their online reporting centre.
