Bedfordshire Police are appealing for information after a report of an altercation on Tavistock Street in Bedford shortly after 1.45am today (Friday, 21 August).
A teenage boy was found with serious stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where he remains with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
Detective Inspector Jon Wheeler from the force’s Boson Guns and Gangs team, said: “This was a vicious attack which has left a teenage boy with life-changing injuries.
“There is no place for violence or knife crime in Bedfordshire. Our investigation is well under way as we work to bring anyone involved in this attack to justice.
“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, has information or CCTV/doorbell footage from the area at that time, to contact us.”
The road remains closed while the investigation continues and extra patrols will be taking place in the area to support this and provide reassurance to the community.
