Bedfordshire Police has confirmed that it is “actively addressing” reports of antisocial behaviour in the streets surrounding Livingstone Primary.
Over recent months, residents of the Prime Ministers/Black Tom area of Bedford have reported increased drug dealing, drug use and antisocial behaviour in and around Slade Walk.
On Wednesday, 6 December, officers conducted high-vis patrols on Slade Walk which provides access to the school from Clapham Road.
In a post on the Bedford Community Policing Facebook page, said that they had spoken to the headmaster of Livingstone Primary and, “noted down the concerns and risks of such behaviour within an area that parents, staff and children use to go and leave school”.
Community Policing Sergeant Chloe Lloyd-Jones said: “We are actively addressing reports of drug use and antisocial behaviour in Slade Walk through increased high visibility patrols in the area.
“Recognising the significant impact these issues have on our communities, we will persist in our efforts to deter criminal and antisocial activities and foster an environment where residents feel safe.
“Community input is also crucial to shaping our strategies, so we encourage ongoing reporting of issues and concerns to help us tailor our patrols and priorities effectively.”
