Bedford’s independent businesses nominated for Muddy Stilettos Awards

Muddy Stilettos

Bedford’s independent businesses are celebrating being nominated in this year’s Muddy Stilettos awards.

The awards have seen nominations for Pavilion in the Park, épanoui, Secret Garden, Made in Bedford, Vanilla Tree and Bears and Tales.

Muddy Stilettos is an award-winning website which gives its readers an ‘urban guide to the countryside’. It was established in Buckinghamshire in 2011 and is now active in 21 counties throughout the country.

“Bedfordshire joined our exiting Hertfordshire site in January 2019,” said Muddy Stiletto’s Katrina Harper-Lewis.

“We specialise in searching out the most special, unique, exciting businesses in Herts and Bedfordshire and to win a Muddy Award provides real kudos and can transform local businesses.”

The awards cover 24 lifestyle categories and anyone can nominate their favourite local business.

From bookshops to delis, photographers to pilates instructors, we’d encourage Bedfordians to get nominating here.

Following the nominations process, the top five businesses with the most nominations in each category will go into the final. Nominations close on 8 May and finalists will be announced on 15 May.

Good luck to all Bedford businesses that are nominted and we look forward to reporting on some local finalists later this month.

Now more than ever, we need your help to fund the Bedford Independent’s quality journalism that serves our community...

We choose to champion editorial independence, meaning we report the facts without bias and can stand up to those in power when we believe it’s needed.

We can give a voice to people in our community whose voices may otherwise not be heard. And we don’t have a paywall, so everyone can read the stories we publish for free.

But in this time of crisis, many news organisations all over the world are facing existential threat, with advertising revenues plummeting. We’re no different.

We work hard every day to bring you news, commentary, entertainment and announcements from across Bedford. We hope that, with your help, we’ll be able to continue this for many years to come.
